THE IRONWORKS
YMI’s partnership with GoNorth aims to address one of the key areas the YMI has identified within the National Youth Music Strategy is ‘to develop appropriate ways to support and value Independent Music Making’. The theme for the YMI Day should be based around providing young people with support and advice on how they can take their first steps to engaging with the professional aspect of the music industry, this is not just for young musicians but also for potential managers, sound engineers, agents, promoters, PR etc. The seminars should also consider looking at speakers from different genres of music, in order to get a wider view on the music industry.
